The American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA), which requires accessibility for places of public accommodations, was enacted in 1990. Yes, that is 35 YEARS ago!
As part of a lawsuit that requires The New York Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) to make 95% of the NYC subway stations accessible by 2055 (2055 – 1990 = 65 years) the authority has announced a plan to make 60% of the stations accessible by 2029. (2029 -1990 = 39 years = 60%! ) 🙁

ADU’s
Los Angelos has been in the national lead for promoting and building Accessory dwelling Units (ADU’s) and New York City, under the recently adopted “City of Yes” zoning, is following in their footsteps.
However …. when an ADU DOUBLES the size of an existing house; is it perverting the essential essence of an “accessory” dwelling?
