NYC CITY OF YES New York City recently adopted the most extensive update to the Zoning Resolution since it’s inception in the early 1960’s. Of particular interest to me is the adoption of rules for Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU’s). However the final rules have been watered down and made excessively complex; a combination of neighborhood NIMBY’s and political lack of will. The result being that the number of potential units projected has been downgraded to a significantly lower number. This is unfortunate. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2025-03-07/nyc-maps-show-where-city-of-yes-zoning-reform-could-add-housing-remove-parking?srnd=phx-citylab |
